#ShopCambridgeshire: Christmas Shopping Events – Part 2

Here’s part two of our list of 30 Christmas shopping events taking place across Cambridgeshire… and just beyond. Today we bring you a further 15 upcoming events where you’ll discover plenty of treasures – and that are sure to get you feeling festive!

1. Rowan’s Winter Warmer
When? Wednesday 4th December
Where? Rowan, 40 Humberstone Road, Cambridge CB4 1JG
What? “Join us for a festive evening at Rowan where you can buy handmade gifts and cards, commission artwork and get involved in our Christmas workshops!” Rowan is a charity and arts centre for people with learning difficulties based in Cambridge. They invite you to their annual Winter Warmer being held tomorrow from 5pm – free entry and live music from 7pm. Find out further details and RSVP here.


2. Christmas Craft Fair @ Ely Cathedral Centre
When? Saturday 7th December
Where? Ely Cathedral Centre, Palace Green, Ely CB7 4EW
What? “Come along for a celebration of all things handmade at our fabulous Christmas Craft Fair.” Ely Cathedral Conference Centre are hosting more than 20 stalls of beautiful handmade gifts across three floors. A great opportunity to “find that perfect Christmas gift or decoration for the home.” There will be mince pies and hot drinks available from their café – find out opening times and RSVP here.


3. Christmas Gifts & Crafts Fair @ Wood Green
When? Saturday 7th December
Where? Wood Green, London Road, Godmanchester PE29 2NH
What? “A festive opportunity to buy some lovely gifts or to treat yourself. The gifts and crafts fair will be in the King’s Suite at Wood Green, Godmanchester. A variety of local gifts and crafts stalls, such as jewellery, cards, candles, art, knitted items and a charity raffle.” Find out further details and RSVP here.

4. Duxford Advent Market 2019
When? Saturday 7th December
Where? St John’s Church, St John’s Street, Duxford CB22 4RA
What? “Duxford Advent Market is an annual German-style craft market, held in our atmospheric redundant church of St John’s. Our festive event is held on a Saturday afternoon and evening. We have carols, music, mulled wine, hot food, craft stalls of every description and, of course, Santa Claus is there too. Everyone is welcome, entry is free to all, although we hope you’ll buy a mug of gluhwein and a raffle ticket and go away with all your Christmas presents sorted!” Find out further details and RSVP here.


5. Mill Road Winter Fair 2019
When? Saturday 7th December
Where? Mill Road, Cambridge
What? “Every year, on the first Saturday in December, Mill Road is transformed. People take over from cars, shopkeepers turn out and set up their stalls, and we provide spaces for local businesses and charities to sell crafts, gifts and refreshments all along the street. Interspersed with the stalls are buskers, circus performers, dancers, poets and storytellers to entertain and inspire.” ‘Nature’ is the theme for 2019 so expect to see nature-inspired costumes, stall decorations and parade props! 6. Burwell Print Centre Christmas Fayre
When? Saturday 7th December
Where? Mandeville Hall, Burwell, Cambridge CB25 0AR
What? Burwell Print Centre is a social enterprise that has been making a difference within the local community for over 30 years. Each day at Burwell Print, “up to 10 people with learning disabilities are supported and trained to provide high quality digital print work, a range of print finishing, graphic design services and business services such as mail-shots.” Join them for their Christmas Fayre this Saturday where you will find a great selection of craft stalls! There will also be a raffle, Santa’s Grotto, fabulous food, and a craft area for children to decorate their own tree decoration for a small donation. Find out further details and RSVP here.

7. Christmas Fair @ The Green Backyard
When? Saturday 7th December
Where? The Green Backyard, Oundle Road, Peterborough PE2 8AT
What? “Our Christmas Fair is back with great stalls, music, activities, food and drink. The aim of this event is to bring the community together in a festive and joyful celebration of the year. The fair is an opportunity to champion our local creators and give our community the opportunity to buy unique gifts and produce as well as raise awareness of what is on offer in the surrounding areas.” Find out further details and RSVP here.


8. Christmas Open Studio – Paula Armstrong Ceramics
When? Thursday 12th – Friday 13th December
Where? 5 Rookery Place, Fenstanton PE28 9LZ
What? “Paula Armstrong Ceramics is opening the studio for a great Christmas shopping event. Paula will be there to chat about her work at the studio as well as having a range of hand built ceramics, Christmas decorations and gift voucher present options available. 9. Christmas Cornucopia @ Haddenham Arts Centre
When? Now until Tuesday 24th December
Where? Haddenham Arts Centre, 20 High St, Haddenham CB6 3XA
What? “Christmas here at the Arts Centre is quite magical. Enjoy your Christmas shopping with a feast of original work from local and regional artists and makers including jewellery, hand-made glass, ceramics, textiles and one-off pieces of art that you can’t find elsewhere. Pop in and make your own wish list or browse for gifts and enjoy a glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate and a mince pie in our festive themed tea room. 10. Balsham Christmas Market
When? Saturday 14th December
Where? Village Hall (Church Institute), Balsham, Cambridge CB21 4DS
What? Balsham Community Market is a non-profit organisation bringing food, families and friends together. Join them for their annual Christmas event, an intimate market of 15 stalls selling locally produced food and gifts. You can expect to find: beef, wild game, savoury food, cakes, chocolate, bread, cheese, honey, coffee, preserves and Greek food. 11. Last Gang’s Alternative Xmas Market
When? Sunday 15th December
Where? The Blue Moon, 2 Norfolk Street, Cambridge CB1 2LF
What? “Everyone has that friend… someone who you never know what to buy as a gift for them. Well have no fear this Christmas… the Last Gang Alternative Xmas Market is back! 12. Ramsey Christmas Fayre
When? Sunday 15th December

13. Mistletoe & Wine Exhibition @ VK Gallery
When? Now until Tuesday 24th December
Where? VK Gallery, 18A Bridge St, St Ives PE27 5EG
What? Join our member VK Gallery for their annual Christmas exhibition at their beautiful gallery in St Ives, Cambridgeshire. They are currently showcasing paintings, limited edition prints, ceramics, glass, textiles, jewellery and decorations which are perfect for the home this Christmas. 14. Christmas Shopping @ The Makers’ Shelf
When? Now until Tuesday 24th December
Where? The Makers’ Shelf, 8A Old Station Road, Newmarket CB8 8DN
What? Our member The Makers’ Shelf invite you to support small and independent this Christmas at their lovely gift shop based in Newmarket. The Makers’ Shelf sell high quality handmade products by 70+ designers and makers from across the UK. They aim to provide a unique gift experience – and have recently launched an online shop too!


15. All Saints Art & Craft Market
When? Saturdays (7th, 14th & 21st December)
Where? All Saints Garden, Trinity Street, Cambridge CB2 1TQ
What? There are just three weekends left until Christmas and on Saturdays you can find the All Saints Art & Craft Market in the heart of Cambridge’s city centre. The market is “friendly and welcoming, selling everything from fine jewellery, pottery and sculpture, to photography, paintings, prints and clothing.
