It is a week since we launched our new #CambsCreativeTreasures series here on the blog. We have discovered new local artists, designers and makers joining in and sharing their work with us and I am very excited to announce that we hit 6000+ shares on the feed on Wednesday! Thank you to everyone who is taking part and we look forward to hitting the next big milestone with you.

This week we wanted to talk about Instagram challenges with the return of Joanne Hawker’s #MarchMeetTheMaker. Everyday throughout the month of March you are given a prompt for sharing an image which will tell your followers something about your business or creations. We asked for feedback on what you love about these challenges and we received some great responses. Cambridge-based maker Alice of @simplyfelting said:

“I find them inspiring and I love meeting new people and seeing their artwork.”

We also received this great comment from @womanin.progress:

“The community it brings – highlighting new people to follow and engage with.”

There’s still time to get involved throughout the month – head over here to find out the prompts for the coming week. Some of the images I selected to share this week are inspired by prompts from the #MarchMeetTheMaker challenge. I hope you enjoy this week’s round-up and don’t forget to come and find us on Instagram over at @cambscreativetreasures!

Day 3 - Flatlay🎨• • It’s Day 3 of the #marchmeetthemaker challenge and today we’re talking about flatlays! I feel like it’s an Instagram sin, but I will openly admit that I am awful at taking flatlays. When I added pins to my collection I was really quite scared about photographing them as I knew flatlays would be an integral part, and given my prior experience I had concerns 😂 however, they actually turned out to be really fun to do with pins, and I think I’m getting better...! • • For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Charlie and I run CMarshallArts, home to my colourful watercolour creations of wildlife! I sell cards, originals, prints and pins ☺️
