We’re back for 2019! What’s On This Weekend: Rowan’s ‘Cambridge Seen’ Charity Fundraising Exhibition

Hello to all of our followers and members – we are back with our first post of 2019 to share with you details of an exciting exhibition taking place in Cambridge this weekend! Back in September we told you about a call for artists to get involved in the fundraising exhibition which is being hosted by Rowan – a fantastic arts charity and centre based in Cambridge, UK. The charity managed to sell over 150 canvases to both professional and amateur artists who have been working over the last few months to bring to you artwork based on the theme ‘Cambridge Seen’.

The response was fantastic and we are really pleased to invite you to come and view the canvases inspired by our beautiful city. They will be on show at Long Road Sixth Form College (Long Road, Cambridge CB2 8PX) today and tomorrow, Saturday 9th – Sunday 10th February 2019, from 11AM until 4PM. Think buildings, landscapes, a particular place or something well-known in Cambridge such as bicycles or the River Cam – we can’t wait to see what the artists have created!

All artworks will be on sale at the event and all funds raised will go back into supporting the amazing work the charity do for the local community. They will be exhibited anonymously and will be available for sale at £45 each. This is a great opportunity to support an incredible local arts charity by purchasing affordable art! We would love to see what you buy so be sure to come and share your purchases with us over on Instagram using our community #CambsCreativeTreasures tag.

I am very excited to tell you that I am one of the artists taking part in this project – and it will be my first ever exhibition! My piece “Blooming Bike I” was so much fun to create – from heading into the City to take photos of bikes with baskets to learning embroidery and discovering the effects of different stitches.
