Today is your last chance to catch Cambridge Drawing Society‘s Spring exhibition at The Pitt Building, Trumpington Street, Cambridge CB2 1RP. Cambridge Drawing Society was founded in 1882 and its members are artists who live within 30 miles of Great St Mary’s, Cambridge. The annual Spring exhibition showcases over 400 new and original works by around 100 different artists.
We visited the exhibition on Wednesday and were really impressed by the work on display. There was a wonderful selection of paintings, mixed media, collage, prints, illustrations and sculpture spanning two large rooms. It is definitely up there as one of the best local exhibitions we have visited – with such a high standard of work on show and a mixed price range for those who might be looking to make a purchase.
Take a look at our short video below for an insight into some of the work being exhibited. It was fantastic to discover so many local artists including Geoff Goddard, Jennifer Wilson, Barbara Harlow, John Tordoff, Giulia Quaresima and Susan Lawley. We are looking forward to the next Cambridge Drawing Society exhibition already!
If you are a member of CDS or if you have visited the exhibition then we would love to hear from you in the comments below – tell us what your favourite piece was and which artists you discovered!
