On Sunday 23rd April 2017 we attended the Cambridge Creatives Photowalk organised by local designer-makers Claire Wilson (Claireabellemakes) and Jo Want (Hello Sunshine). The Spring event brought 70+ creative individuals to Cambridge to explore and photograph the city’s Instagram hotspots. Everyone gathered on Parker’s Piece and after an introduction from Claire and Jo – and the handing out of goody bags – we set off down the back streets leading to the idyllic Orchard Street and its Wysteria adorned houses.
The route then took us along the equally beautiful Elm Street and Willow Walk, and across Midsummer’s Common to the river. We walked the path along the river all the way to Quayside, through the city centre via Bridge Street and Trinity Lane and then along The Backs. We were all given a copy of this incredible map illustrated by Jo.

We made our way back into the city centre via King’s Parade and had the opportunity to grab a treat from Jack’s Gelato. The Cambridge Satchel Company supported the event by lending a selection of their popular bags to be worn and photgraphed throughout the day. Make sure you go and browse the #CambridgeCreativesPhotowalk tag on Instagram to see the incredible images taken on the day!
The walk took around 2.5 hours and we finished the day with a picnic on Jesus Green. It was a great opportunity to network with other like-minded individuals who share a creative passion and refuel with homemade treats. Hannah Olsson (CustomCufflinkCo) makes a great tiffin! We took quite a few photographs and some footage throughout the day which we have compiled into a short vlog (see below) that sums up just how colourful the day was. How amazing is this shot of everyone taken by Jo Christy aka Miss Sue Flay?!
If you feel like you missed out then do not worry! Claire and Jo have just released the date of the Autumn Photowalk which will take place on Saturday 30th September 2017. You can find out more details and RSVP to the event here. Want to feel inspired? Go watch this…
